Praire Sky Venue

We are so excited to be partnering with

Angela Raber and The Prairie Sky Venue for the location for Homestead Learning!

Prairie Sky is located on Highway 50, just a few miles south of Southern Drive.  It is a 27,000 square foot building that sits on 4.5 acres. This building was once used as the Savageton Community School, so it is already equipped with large classrooms. These rooms are currently being used for lodging for the guests of Prairie Sky, but as of September of this year, some of them will be transitioned back into learning spaces for our students! Prairie Sky also has a beautiful 5000 sq ft Grand Hall, as well as the "Fireside Room," both of which can be used when our students need to spread out for large projects or for music, arts and theater experiences. These spaces can also be used for activity and exercise when the weather prevents us from going outside. With 4.5 acres of land, there is plenty of room for the children to play and learn outside.

The History

The Prairie Sky Venue has a fascinating history that aligns perfectly with our vision for Homestead Learning.  It all started with the Savageton Community and the desire to gather and fellowship together over 100 years ago!

When the Barkely's and the Smelser's came together to donate the land and the building materials, the families started what would become Bethlehem Church, the building. In 1922 the original chapel was built and the first community gathering happened at Thanksgiving.

Hundreds of community members would walk through these doors and would celebrate and live life together. Potlucks, weddings, babies, family, funerals. and much more would take place within these walls.  This building is more than a church, a school or an event venue; it is a staple of a resilient community that stands together and supports one another in life.  Go to www.prairieskyvenue.com to find out more!
